Discover the Internet of Things with North Building Technologies

Control and integration product producer, North Building Technologies, is to sponsor the new Building Services Forum.

The Forum is a one-day ticketed event encompassing a CPD accredited seminar programme covering topics such as the Internet of Things, cyber security, intelligent buildings, healthy buildings, energy management and more.

North Building Technologies is an independent company, based in Brighton since 1995. The business’s controllers link systems together to optimise building performance, and their user interfaces simplify building management. North Building Technologies’ products are configured for domestic, commercial and industrial buildings by trusted re-sellers, installers and OEMs.

Commenting on the decision to sponsor the Forum, business development manager, James Palmer, said: “North are proud to be sponsoring the Building Services Forum 2018. This high-quality event is a great way to share our 22 years’ experience creating networks of things within the industry. We will bring clarity to IoT technologies, while sparking debate about this new era of connectivity.”

North Building Technologies will support the comprehensive seminar programme with a presentation led by Mr Palmer. The seminar will cover the Internet of Things, a new technology that promises to transform the way systems communicate in buildings, and will aim to answer the questions: “What is it?” and “Do we need it?”

Mr Palmer added: “This is a great opportunity for our industry to come together and understand both the technicalities and the commercial opportunities IoT technologies will bring. We also need to recognise that the existing players in this field, such as Google and IBM, could well be encroaching on our domain in the years to come and could be highly disruptive.

“During our seminar, North will show how IoT and cloud-based technologies are already bringing great benefits to our customers, and we will bring out some of the many issues likely to affect us all as this technology evolves.”

The Building Services Forum will take place on February 8 2018 at the Building Centre, London.
