Fans: Quiet!... it's the TD Silent fan

The TD ventilation range of fans has been used by customers worldwide to provide ventilation solutions for the last 20 years.
The success of the TD fan comes from its innovative design and optimum air performance inmany applications.

All this within a compact design, which makes it ideal for small spaces, especially false ceilings, where an in-line fan is more suited than a centrifugal. Add to this the ease of installation and maintenance and it is not surprising the TD is a market-leading solution.

The design of the TD with inlet and outlet connections to in-line ducts allows the central fan body to be easily removed without interferring with the duct system. This innovation greatly simplifies the task of inspection and cleaning, and thus benefits users.

Since the launch of TD into the fan market some 20 years ago, copies have appeared whichlook similar. Solar & Palau has successfully defended its design patent to ensure these are removed from the market.

The TD Silent fan from Solar & Palau

While it is difficult to improve air performance of the TD further, there is a furthercharacteristic common to all fans which is disturbing and increasingly important and that is the problem of noise. When it comes to noise, less is always more! That is why S&P engineers took on the difficult task of reducing noise as far as possible.

The new S&P TD Silent fan maintains the air performance and technical features which made the original TD successful, but now it has a much lower sound level.
Lower sound means less noise in inlet and outlet ducts as well as reduced sound levels radiating into occupied areas, which benefits end-users.

How did S&P engineers achieve this innovation? Starting from the inside out, the internal components such as the motor, impeller and guide vanes are very similar to the previous generation TD, but the casing has a perforated inner liner design, enclosed in an outer casing of high density material to reduce sound transmission. This also ensures there is no air leakage. Outer half shells contain all these elements and look good. Duct connection is via flexible elastomer gaskets to minimise sound and vibration transmission to ducts.

The TD Silent keeps all the characteristics of its predecessors and has a greatly reduced noise level, within a new attractive aesthetic design that will continue this market-leading success into the future.
