To address the space issue, two 70kW Stratton mk3 boilers, with a total output of 140kW, were installed in cascade to provide the building with a compact alternative to its previous floor-standing model.  Following the upgrade, Hull and East Yorkshire Centre for the Deaf have increased floor space within its plant room.
