Les Littlewood has retired after 26 years
Les joined Albion in 1994 as national sales manager, with only one product in its portfolio to sell – a gas approved brass ball valve. During his time at Albion he has been promoted twice; firstly, to sales director in 2003, and then, as Albion began to start actively promoting the brand, he took responsibility for all marketing functions and became sales and marketing director in 2010.
Les has been instrumental to Albion’s growth within this time; he has seen turnover increase dramatically, the product portfolio reach over 5,000 lines and the number of employees grow tenfold. In his time, leading Albion's sales team, the company has become a major player in the UK valve industry.
Managing director David Keys said: 'Over the years, Les has worked closely with many of Albion’s customers, taking their accounts from strength to strength and helping them develop their valve sales. I am sure you will all agree with me that he will be greatly missed.
'So, to Les, we thank you for all your hard work, dedication and loyalty over the past 26 years, Albion would not be where it is today without you. You have been a great mentor to many of your colleagues, a great friend to many of our customers, and a great asset to Albion.
'On behalf of the whole team at Albion, we would like to wish you a long, happy and healthy retirement.'
• Les was the recipient of the HVR Awards Lifetime Achievement Award at the event in October last year.
