Staff from GDL Air Systems are taking part in a charity bike ride to raise as much money as possible for three charities: Cancer Research UK, Meningitis Now and the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Charitable Foundation Liver Transplant Unit.
On 15 August they will be attempting to cycle round the 98-mile Cheshire Ring Canal system in one day, covering six different canals.
Starting from Portland Basin in Ashton, they are travelling anti-clockwise through Manchester City centre and Lymm, to Preston Brook Junction, just outside Runcorn. From there, they will go past Anderton Boat Lift, through Middlewich to Hardings Wood Junction at Kidsgrove. From there, they will join the Macclesfield Canal and cycle through Congleton to Marple. From Marple, it is on the home leg on the Lower Peak Forest Canal back to Portland Basin.
