Help shape the future of sustainable refurbishment

BRE launched a new founding member’s initiative for users of the BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment scheme at the Chartered Institute of Housing’s annual conference in Manchester yesterday.
Introduced in 2012, BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment provides a robust design and assessment method for refurbishment projects, helping to cost effectively improve the sustainability and environmental performance of existing dwellings.

The scheme enables developers, designers and green deal advisors to promote better design and enhance their sustainability credentials. It also helps planners, regulators and asset managers to set standards for more sustainable and higher quality refurbishments.

BRE is currently offering an exclusive opportunity for refurbishment professionals to become founding members of the scheme. Members will have a critical influence on the scheme's future direction and on driving the sustainable refurbishment agenda to meet social, economic and environmental objectives. They will also receive:
  • One free place on a BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment assessor training course, worth £995
  • Their first year's BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment assessor license fee free of charge, worth £500
  • Free BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment project registrations, valid for two years, worth £2,400
  • A listing on the BREEAM website as a founding member - includes a member profile and case study for certified BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment projects
  • A place on the BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment working group, with a chance to attend exclusive CPD presentations by expert speakers
  • The opportunity to develop a BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment Assessor business in their own organisation

  • The invitation is open to private and social housing providers (particularly those with large property portfolios), housing management companies, architects, contractors, BREEAM assessor organisations and other industry specialists.
