Wander ter Kuile, group technical manager at Waterloo Air Products, has passed away after a brave fight with cancer.
Wander ter Kuile, group technical manager at Waterloo Air Products, has passed away after a brave fight with cancer.
Wander was born in the Netherlands but moved to Britain aged 11. He joined Waterloo in 2006 after previously working for Vokes and Altair, bringing his extensive experience of air movement to developing Waterloo’s comprehensive range of air terminal devices.
He served on many technical committees across the UK, Europe and America, and was widely respected throughout the industry. He was committed to developing future talent and was an engineering ambassador to Cove School, where he mentored young engineers.
Outside work, Wander turned his hand to almost anything. His love of sailing led him to become a certified Yachtmaster and even to race in Cowes Week, and he also gained his wings as a glider pilot. To relax, he loved wood-working; particularly the challenge of making model sailing boats.
Chairman of Waterloo Air Products, Rick Edmondson, said: “Without doubt, Wander has been a major contributor to Waterloo’s success. He guided our technical requirements, met with customers and generously shared his unbelievably wide and deep knowledge. He was also good fun to work with – witty, kind and supportive, and an excellent friend and colleague. We will all miss him.”
