Founder of Boiler Guide, David Holmes
Despite the effects of the pandemic and the announcement of the Green Industrial Revolution, and the call for a gas boiler ban, a Boiler Guide customer survey revealed that 78% of generated enquiries resulted in the purchase of a new boiler.
The Market Harborough based company supplies sales leads to heating professionals for boilers and renewable heating solutions, including heat pumps and solar systems. Overall, enquiries were up 28% compared to the previous year, marking a record year for Boiler Guide.
Enquiries for boiler repairs and maintenance were down slightly at 6% from 2019 indicating that homeowners are looking to update their heating systems in a bid to improve heating efficiency.
Founder of Boiler Guide, David Holmes said: “We have seen huge growth in traffic to our website during 2020. During the various lockdowns, homeowners have increased their online activity looking to make improvements around the home and this can be seen in the number of customers updating their heating. With people stuck indoors and without the option of holidays, it’s clear to see that many of us are investing more in our homes.”
The upward trend looks set to continue throughout 2021 with January enquiry figures up a further 48% compared to the same period last year.
Mr Holmes added: “The results speak for themselves and it is encouraging to see that heating engineers have the opportunity to grow their businesses in such difficult circumstances.”
