REHAU recruits applications engineer

REHAU has appointed a new applications engineer to help cope with demand from local authorities now carrying out district heating feasibility studies.

Markus Euring (pictured), an expert on diversity and heat network design, has relocated to the UK from REHAU’s headquarters in Germany, partly to provide support to those authorities who are using newly acquired Heat Network Delivery Unit (HNDU) funding to finance the studies.

REHAU’s business team manager responsible for renewable energy solutions, Steve Richmond, said: “The HNDU funding is encouraging a widespread review of district heating feasibility which we warmly welcome. However, it’s important that these studies take into account the very latest advances in terms of product specification and best practice in network design and that’s where Markus will come in, drawing on his extensive experience in the more established German district heating market.”

He continued: “We know that diversity is key in determining feasibility as is optimising pipework sizes and maximising the delta T (difference in flow/return temperatures); and Markus is joining our team here to provide existing and potential customers with expert advice in these key areas.”

REHAU is a leading manufacturer and supplier of polymer district heating pipework in the UK.  The company works closely with designers and contractors to assist in the design of everything from complete district heating schemes to simple ‘A to B’ pipe layouts.
