Just keep consuming, burn as much hydrocarbon as we like and continue going on holiday five times a year.

It appears the answer is in the trees. Dr Tim Fox has proposed on the news that we should plant thousands of artificial trees along our motorways.

These trees will absorb the CO2 from the atmosphere and store it in little tanks. Every now and then a man will turn up, drain the trees and pump this CO2 into holes in the ground for storage. These trees will be about 50ft high and 8ft in diameter, and use a special type of plastic to absorb the CO2.

The godfather of global warming is a Dr Broecker. The man who coined the phrase is a big fan.

He has estimated that 60 million of the devices would be needed worldwide at an estimated cost of $600bn (£303bn) a year to cancel out our CO2 excesses.

Nice. Lets put these trees everywhere and keep on trucking.

Personally I think this is a step in the wrong direction. Why don’t we just consume less and do so more efficiently?
