This week brings Manchester HEVAR
Manchester HEVAR 2010 takes place on February 10-11 at the Lancashire County Cricket club.

Day 1 - Wednesday February 10

The UK government's Feed-In-Tariffs will be the focus of discussion by Gideon Richards of Consulting with Purpose Ltd from 12.30-13.30 on day one.

In a CPD accredited seminar from 10am -12 noon, Jacqueline Balian, managing director at CIBSE Certification, will discuss air conditioning, new regulations and the need for enforcement. Anastasia Mylona, the environmental data coordinator at CIBSE. Will present the Design Compass - 'Adapting buildings for climate change'.

At 10-10.45am, Bernard Dawson of Riello will present 'Liquid Biofuel - The alternative to Biomass'.

Chris Ingram, chairman of UHMA will discuss 'The impact the recognition of UFH as more energy efficient than radiators, will have on heating engineers' at 11-12 noon.

At 12.30-13.15, David Unwin, head of Air tightness at BSRIA will discuss 'Air tightness of the building envelope'.

Bryan Barlow at Spirotech will present the CPD seminar 'Energy efficient wet systems' at 13.30-14.15.

From 14.30 - 15.15, BSRIA will present 'Part E - Acoustic Testing'

Jack McDavid of the HVCA will chair a seminar from 14.00-16-00 which covers 'Information overload - tackling waste and inefficiency in the tendering process' and the 'Compliance Culture - How legislation is being undermined'.

Day 2 - Thursday, February 11

At 10-10.30 am, Matt Duggan from Pera will present 'R&D in a recession- Accessing 53 billion Euros of committed European grant funding'.

The Underfloor Heating Manufacturer's Association will present a talk on underfloor heating in commercial and domestic properties, training and the impact of energy efficient legislation at 10.00-13.00.

At 11-12 noon, Graeme Waugh of Tour & Andersson will present Dynamic balancing (methodologies, instrumentation and balancing.

'MCS for Dummies - An insight into the Microgeneration Certification Scheme;' is presented at 12.30-13.15 by Tanya Christenson, operations manager of Consulting with Purpose Ltd.

Mark Northcott from Broag will discuss Sustainability from 13.30-14.15.

The CPD accredited seminar from ENWA's James Townley will cover 'Water treatment and HVAC efficiency from 13.15-14.00. Hoval's Geoff Lord will give 'An update on the latest biomass technologies' at 14.15-15.00.
