Want to work for OZ? Trades needed down under

Australia is still asking British construction workers to apply for visas to work down under.
Emigration specialists The Emigration Group says British workers are in demand, despite reports that overall immigration numbers are being reduced by 14% by the Australian government.

Paul Arthur from The Emigration Group said: 'The Australian government still wants skilled construction workers such as plumbers and brick layers to apply now for visas'.

'Immigration authorities have stated their intention to continue to bring skilled workers from abroad to fill labour gaps, despite the modest cut to overall immigration numbers', he added.

Paul advises that people should still apply, even if they aren't ready to emigrate. He said: 'There probably won't be a better opportunity than now to apply for a visa. It takes around 12-15 months to go through the visa process (without a job offer) then dependant upon your visa type, you have up to five years to actually emigrate, so there is plenty of time to prepare.'

The Emigration Group is hosting a series of weekend seminars in the next few weeks.

The dates are Sunday, April 19 in Durham, Sunday May 10 in London and Sunday June 7 in Warrington.

The Emigration Group has helped over 10,000 thousand UK residents start a new life down under, providing a migration package that includes visa preparation and management, job search, business planning and resettlement services.
