The first photocopier, the first calculator, the first DVD player and the first iPad – Xpelair’s GX6 axial fan has witnessed them all.

The first photocopier, the first calculator, the first DVD player and the first iPad – Xpelair’s GX6 axial fan has witnessed them all.

Celebrating 65 years since it first went into production, the GX6 is recognised as one of Xpelair’s most iconic products and has stood the test of time since 1952.

“2017 is a milestone year for the GX6,” commented Lee Stones, category manager, Xpelair. “Turning 65 is often associated with retirement and taking things a little easier, but this is certainly not the case for the GX6!  One of our most iconic ranges, the sixth generation GX6 models are still market leaders today and continue to appeal to our customers, 65 years after it first went into production.”

“To celebrate GX6 turning 65, we have a whole host of marketing activities planned including social media, competitions, PR and exhibitions,” continued Lee. “We would love to hear from anyone who has installed GX6 over the years and has a story to share.”

Xpelair GX6 fans are purpose designed for use in domestic kitchens, utility rooms, bathrooms and small commercial applications such as offices. The GX6 range is suitable for direct ventilation to the outside and can be window or panel mounted, with optional kits for wall mounting available separately. With an integrated safety thermal overload protection and built-in silent action electro-thermal shutter cassette, the fans are operated by an on/off switch, pullcord or humidistat depending on the model.

Today’s sixth generation of GX6 fans retain their rugged reliability and styling and can be used for a range of specialist tasks. Conforming to Part F of the Building Regulations mechanical ventilation for kitchens, the fans are designed for easy cleaning and maintenance and are also rated as Class 1 earthed appliance.
