ACV electric boilers help Rapid Energy expand its business

Trolley-mounted ACV electric boilers are being used to fulfil a need in the construction sector.

Temporary plant rooms and boiler hire have been growing in recent years. They’re often used to help sites that need emergency heating or to maintain services during a plant room refurbishment.

Rapid Energy, a relatively new company in this area, has seen its business grow rapidly in line with this demand, and has also discovered a niche sector with portable electric boilers.

Sami Kasap, chief marketing officer and co-founder of Rapid Energy, commented: “Our business launch was delayed due to COVID-19 last year. But we have been operating for over nine months now and have seen our business go from strength to strength.”

Rapid Energy approached ACV to purchase their E-Tech electric boiler range for trolley-mounted boiler hire, fulfilling a demand predominantly in the construction sector.

Mr Kasap went on to say: “ACV was already front of mind prior to the supplier selection phase. We were impressed with the service we received and how efficient they were at responding to our questions during the selection process. We conducted market research with professionals that use electric boilers. ACV were regularly cited during those conversations, so it was clear they had a trustworthy name and an excellent reputation.

We originally only intended to buy around 10 units to create the trolley mounted systems, however demand for these products has been so popular we now have33in the fleet and growing. Their main use on construction sites is to help reduce the drying time of screed. However, with the E-tech W 15kW boiler being available as a single phase makes it ideal for housing developments, so they’re also used for temporary heating and hot water for the construction staff working on these projects.

More recently we have seen customers use portable electric boilers to provide hot water for pressure testing the pipework in a building before hand over. Contractors usually conduct a cold water pressure test to check for leaks within the pipework systems. However, the problem with this approach is that the pipework is not subjected to expansion and contraction as it would if hot water was circulating around the system under ‘real world’ conditions. Therefore a leak could go undetected. By using hot water during this testing stage the pipework installation can be fully verified and signed off, and the risk of future leaks is mitigated after the building is handed over.”

Rapid Energy chose ACV electric boilers due to their reputation, their ability to meet the required specifications, and of course the quality of ACV's products.

Mr Kasap concluded, “We’ve been very impressed with the team at ACV UK and the robustness of the boilers when used on construction sites. We have also been able to link them together to run as a modular system for sites that need higher outputs.”

Rapid Energy currently have 33 portable electric boilers available for their customers to hire and they are exclusively made with ACV electric boilers.

ACV offesr more than 13 electric boiler models from 14-259kW output, single and three phase options as well as combined heating and hot water models. For more information visit: https://www.acv.com/gb/customer/technology/electric-boilers
