APHC increases training reward to £175 as part of 2025 training initiative

APHC (Training) Ltd., registered educational charity and sister company to the Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC), is increasing its training reward for plumbing and heating companies to £175.

Plumbing and heating companies can claim the £175 reward and use it towards the cost of a certificated course with a recognised training provider such as APHC, BPEC, City & Guilds and all UKAS-approved ACS providers.

The plumbing and heating industry requires contractors to acquire new skills and regularly refresh their knowledge, the training reward scheme operated each year by APHC (Training) Ltd is an incentive to safeguard the long-term professional development of the industry and ensure training is undertaken. The £175 training reward is available to all plumbing and heating companies in England and Wales regardless of whether they are members of APHC.

In order to receive the reward companies are required to complete a short application form and send a copy of the training course invoice along with the successful course completion certificate to APHC who will then pay for the cost of the course, up to £175, straight into the employer’s business bank account.

APHC have also announced its 2025 programme of courses which include Legionella Cold Water Risk Assessment & Disinfection, Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems (Unvented)and Sanitary and Above Ground Drainage.

The courses are delivered using Microsoft Teams so delegates can use a PC or laptop device to log on and complete their training over 2 hours per day for up to 5 days. APHC Training courses are delivered remotely online and have been developed in collaboration with training provider BPEC in order to ensure their effectiveness. Once the initial training course is complete, delegates will then take an online assessment in order to obtain a course completion certificate.

Graeme Dryden, deputy chief executive & technical services manager at the Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC) commented: “We are delighted to be able to increase our Training Reward to £175 for 2025. It is so important in our industry to ensure knowledge is up-to-date and that our work is compliant and safe. This Training Reward is an incentive to encourage businesses to undertake more training and gain more skills’’.
