Grant UK has confirmed its' compliance with the new CE ('Communauté Européenne/European Community) standard for Flues, having put its EZ-Fit systems through rigorous product testing earlier this year.
From 1 July 2013, under the Construction Products Regulation 20111 (CPR), it will become mandatory for manufacturers to draw up a declaration of performance and apply CE marking to any products which conform to the European Technical Assessment (ETA) issued. This is a major change as affixing of CE marking under the provisions of the existing Construction Products Directive (CPD) is currently voluntary in the UK. It will be illegal to sell any non CE marked products after this date.
Grant has been ahead of the game for some time, taking the initiative to adhere the CE marking on, not just the flue products, but the whole Grant range. The process for testing is lengthy and complex, taking approximately six months, so is a big investment, both in time and money.
Managing director, Paul Wakefield, commented: 'We have a very stringent policy where quality control is concerned and the conformity to legislation is paramount. Our products are manufactured to the highest standard and our adherence to regulations is just part of our daily routine. Customers rely on us to inform them of our continued quality conformance, and this provides them with simple visual validation.'
