Significantly, ESSCO was originally established by Doug Stammers, father of current Managing Director, Richard Stammers, for the primary purpose of promoting ESBE in the UK, with the acronymous title standing for ‘ESBE and Stammers Company’. It has been a symbiotic relationship that has expanded in parallel to product development and changing demands from the HVAC sector.
Its new HQ, on a business park three miles from the centre of Southampton, extends to 16,000 sq. ft. over two floors with office and assembly as well as dispatch space, while the meeting room proudly displays the company’s business values and distinct branding.
In terms of business units, ESSCO has its EPV department headed up by Alan Pill and Wing Mo who are experts in their field and an energy business supporting clients delivering communal heating systems: to whom ESSCO supplies its own high performance HIUs or heat interface units featuring ESBE valves. Then ESSCO also fabricates what are considered to be the best value utility cupboards on the market, providing a compact solution to a burgeoning demand for offsite fabrication.
According to Commercial Director, Matt Lowe: “All our activity relates to the control and flow of water - mainly in the HVAC industry - but also across the process and petrochemical industries and we serve customers all over the UK and Ireland. Our Fit & Forget commitment relates primarily to our UFH pump packs that we sell to specialist companies in the sector. This market is all about dependable products and technical support, so we only work with manufacturers who care about their products and the ESBE range of VTG mixing valves is hugely important to the success of this part of the business.”
“Historically ESBE is a bulletproof brand making great products. They know their stuff and support us well with technical knowledge and good customer service. We are proud to be the UK distributor of a quality brand such as ESBE.”
Darren Myers, the recently appointed Sales Director for ESBE for the UK and Ireland, commented: “As a manufacturer we have enjoyed a long and successful association with ESSCO and believe that the investment they have made in their stunning new premises will see them go from strength to strength.”
Looking to the future, Matt Lowe said: “We are an acquisitive company, so we will look out for opportunity to bring businesses into ESSCO that enhance what we currently do. Under each of our business units, we have plans to grow organically, these plans will always be driven by developing and selling products that support our customers to do their jobs well.”
