Aston-based building services provider JS Wright has won a 1.7m deal to provide green services for a new hotel serving Heathrow airport.
JS Wright will be installing a combined heat and power (CHP) system and heat exchangers on the roof of the hotel to minimise the building's carbon footprint. The CHP system will serve 200 bedrooms in the hotel which is being built on a pod-by-pod basis with pre-plumbed factory fitted units. JS Wright will also be installing pipe work for the hot and cold-water distribution, as well as drainage and sanitary ware for each room. It will fully plumb 35 rooms that have been non-pod manufactured. Ardmore Construction commissioned JS Wright to provide sustainable systems for the 14m Ramada Jarvis hotel at Hounslow, which is set to open in August 2008. JS Wright will also be fitting a new Colt-Colaris water-source heat pump system as a more energy efficient and quieter alternative to conventional air conditioning, enabling all guests to control the climate in their room. JS Wright is in the process of fitting out the UK's first combined Ibis and Etap hotel at Birmingham International Airport with eco-friendly systems including an energy recovery system on the roof to recycle trapped heat and a fresh air system with filters to remove fumes and particulate from aircraft engines.
