More than just a trade show!

The HVAC & Refrigeration Show, the UK’s only dedicated exhibition for the refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, heating and heat pump sectors will take place from 23 – 25 January 2018 at the ExCeL Centre, London.

The HVAC & Refrigeration Show also has a number of exciting feature areas in the pipeline

The HVAC & Refrigeration Show, the UK’s only dedicated exhibition for the refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, heating and heat pump sectors will take place from 23 – 25 January 2018 at the ExCeL Centre, London.

In addition to a wide range of exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services, the event will feature the series launch of the national SkillFRIDGE competition; working lunches for sponsors and invited guests; a three-day series of live debates on key issues and a three-day seminar programme with speakers from UK and European Associations.

2018 SkillFRIDGE launch

SkillFRIDGE, the national refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump competition forms part of the WorldSkills UK portfolio, a government led initiative designed to champion apprenticeships and technical skills development programmes. It is aimed at apprentices and students studying up to Level 3 RACHP. The 2017 national final will take place in November at the Skills Show, ready for the 2018 series to launch at the HVAC & Refrigeration Show.

Working Lunches

The HVAC & Refrigeration Show will feature a series of three working lunches over the duration of the show in the new ‘Business Hub’. Sponsors will be invited to give a short pre-lunch talk and network informally with invited guests over lunch.

Live Debates

As part of the show’s drive to engage key brands and reach industry nationally and internationally, the show will also feature a three day series of live debates on key issues including: Smart cities – future markets; Supermarkets – highlighting new approaches; Hotels – Looking at new designs/new legislation and intelligent solutions and more.

A panel of guest speakers from manufacturing, industry figures and retail sectors will be invited to present on these issues in the new ‘Business Hub’

Seminars

The HVAC & Refrigeration Show will feature CPD accredited programmes in two seminar theatres – the HVACR Theatre and the Training & Skills Theatre, sponsored by Toshiba.

Both will offer a three day programme, with The Training & Skills Theatre, featuring speakers from UK and European Associations, with the Institute of Refrigeration and WorldSkills UK presentations taking centre stage.

Commenting on its decision to sponsor the Training & Skills Theatre, David Dunn, general manager and director of Toshiba Air Conditioning and CIAT Ozonair said: “Our support for the HVAC & Refrigeration Show’s Training and Skills feature underlines the importance we attach to improving competence standards and skill levels across the industry.

“As a global leader in high efficiency, high performance air conditioning, Toshiba is keen to support and encourage the industry to improve knowledge and technical skills at all levels. Our high-profile support for the ACR Show is part of a wide range of initiatives designed to raise standards.

“We have invested in a national network of air conditioning training centres to provide high quality technical and hands-on training for customers and end users. Plus, our new industry-leading warranty scheme is based on the competence and skills of installers rather than the size of spend, giving proper recognition and weighting to the quality of workmanship.”

IOR Conference

The Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) will hold its annual conference at the show for the second time in 2018.

The 2016 conference explored how energy and emission saving in component and system design was being achieved. It focused on the impact of refrigerant choice (driven by new F Gas Regulation), design standards (changing requirements of European Safety Standards, such as the proposed revisions to EN378), meeting and exceeding efficiency targets (driven by the Ecodesign Directive), and international policy (proposed amendments to Montreal Protocol).  It also looked at the opportunities offered by the role of new emerging markets (recycled/recovery/efficiency inspections, overseas developments and facilitating new technologies.)

The 2018 programme will be announced shortly.

An exciting line-up of exhibitors

The industry has reacted positively to the new name, date and venue for the event formerly known as The ACR Show with a number of exhibitors and sponsors already signed up. Fujitsu, Toshiba Air Conditioning, Lordan, Thermonfin, Carrier Rental Systems, Jumo Instruments, Broughton Electro Air Products, First Choice Refrigeration Spares, Polestar Products, Prihoda UK, Stainless Finishing Solutions, Qingdao TianyiCool Co, Vulkan Industries, Parcel Holders, Green Zone Surveys, Oxford Hardware, Rullion and more are all excited about the move to London’s ExCeL, placing the show in easy reach of big business.
