Space Air attends Daikin Europe conference

UK Daikin distributor Space Airconditioning plc, along with a small group of its customers, joined a total of 177 delegates from Europe, Africa and the Middle East, to attend an International Applied Systems Conference hosted by Daikin Europe this month.

UK Daikin distributor Space Airconditioning plc, along with a small group of its customers, joined a total of 177 delegates from Europe, Africa and the Middle East, to attend an International Applied Systems Conference hosted by Daikin Europe this month.

Based at the prestigious Ergife Palace Hotel just outside the centre of Rome, the conference revealed a number of innovative developments with Daikin Europe’s applied product range, including chillers and fan coil units manufactured in Cecchina, Rome, and air handling units produced in Milan.

Delegates learned that since launching the first ever inverter driven air-cooled chiller in 2006, Daikin’s inverter technology chillers have made a significant impact. The company is now fast moving away from fixed speed compressors. Today, it is claimed, Daikin offers the market’s largest inverter chiller capacity range, encompassing in cooling only and heat pump versions, both scroll and screw compressor chillers - from 5kW to 1.8MW.

Delegates also heard about Daikin’s latest inverter screw compressor model, the EWAD-TZ, other new developments with the chillers and about the company’s wide and highly flexible Air Handling Unit portfolio.

The three-day Daikin Applied Systems conference also included a visit to the chiller factory in Cecchina and group tours of Rome.

Space Air’s managing director, Neil Afram, is confident that the event will lead to increased specification and sales of Daikin chillers and air handling units, particularly in the UK.
